Before I go straight to the tutorial, I am expecting you to get the following before this tutorial can affect your sale positively.

Before you can start making sales on Instagram you are expected to have registered an Instagram business account having a good number of followers which you are hoping to be your permanent customers.
Make Sales On Instagram By Tagging Your Products
This new feature “shopping on Instagram” allows Instagram users to tag each of their products whenever they are adding new stories or feed posts on Instagram. Obviously, you may find it difficult to use this feature especially if you are not using Instagram. Below are the ways you can tag your products:
There is an Instagram sales channel where you can set up and import catalog for your product. After, tag your posts together with products immediately.
On Instagram, you can add filters, caption, effects to your Instagram post. There is no difference also as you tag products and when you tag users on Instagram.
It is simple! Click on the tap products button, in the photo, choose the particular products you wish to tag. You will also input the name of the product. Click Done!
In fact, you are allowed to connect your Instagram to your e-commerce platform( if you are selling physical products). By doing this, you can now tag all products while posting. In my next publication, I will discuss how you can connect your Shopify with your Instagram. But, there is a little thing you will do before using the tag product feature on Instagram. Using your basic account, you will find tag people button but tag product option is missing. Whenever you want to post, the tag product won’t appear. This means there are things you will do before you start using Instagram shopping.
The shopping feature is only available to those having approved businesses account on Instagram. So, it is compulsory to get your own account approved for you to start tagging products in your stories and posts.
Getting approval is not easy, you must follow their requirements as explained below:
You must accept their commercial policies and merchant agreement. This is very important, complying with their merchant agreement simply indicate that you have accepted all the legal terms and conditions of using the Instashop.
Secondly, you need an Instagram business account instead of an ordinary account. It is either you register a new business account or you convert your Instagram account into a business account.
Thirdly, endeavour to connect your Facebook page to your business profile account before applying for Instagram shopping. On your Facebook page, create another Shop having a different payment option. You need to do this before it can be eligible to make sales on Instagram.
Additionally, Your business account must focus mainly on physical goods. If your business doesn’t sell physical products, then you may not be able to make a sale on Instagram. According to Instagram, there is a chance of adding new features which will allow products which are not physical.
Here is how to apply for Shopping on Instagram:
Most Importantly, make sure your product catalog is already connected to your business profile account. Then, navigate to your Instagram app and sign up for Instagram Shopping. You can do this by navigating to your business profile’s settings,
Click on Business and also click on Shopping on the Instagram button. Make sure you follow all the steps involved.
Finally, click submit! Your application is now submitted for review.
It will take a few days or more for Instagram to review your application. Immediately, you start seeing the shopping or the tag product button whenever you want to post; it means your business profile has been approved. But, if the shopping doesn’t appear, you still need to wait as your application is still under review. It can also be hidden if your application is rejected after the review. Perhaps, you can reapply and make sure your profile is completely filled and it meets up with the InstaShop requirements.
The only issue that you may have now is how to connect your product catalog with your business Instagram account. But, I will explain how you can do that with no stress!
You can connect your “Instagram business account” to your product catalog. Just follow the procedures below:
Navigate or click to visit your Catalog Manager.
Ensure you have already logged in to your Facebook account and if you don’t have a Facebook account, kindly create one before you can access the Catalog Manager.
Choose from the catalog of your choice. You will be taken to the “Diagnostics page” where you will see the catalog.
Navigate to more ways to use your Catalog.
Click on Instagram Shopping.
Select and click connect your “Instagram Business Account”.
Click on Connect my account!
After you have completed all these procedures, it means your catalog has been connected to your Instagram account(business account) successfully.
Add Your Product Link To Your Bio
Don’t forget that you can add links to your Bio, and this is a way that you can make sales on Instagram aside from the shopping features. There is no doubt, your followers both the new and the old will check your bio to know more about you. Writing a convincing bio about your products and with links to the products will go along way. If you are using this way to make sales on Instagram, your landing page must be able to seduce your Instagram followers to buy. Having a poor landing page may cause your followers to bounce back to your their Instagram page.
